A Fall Feast for the Senses

I am so excited to be writing about what's new for fall at Really Great Finds. We've spent the better part of the summer getting ready for this exciting time of year. Many of our regular vendors are back with new products and old favorites. Here's a preview of what you can find in store. Remember, we are always changing, so stop by often to see what we've unpacked for the week.

Blue Ridge Candle Company's owner Jennifer Miller is a creative genius when it comes to scents. This local mom's latest creation is a candle pie that comes in a mini and large size. She has four flavors to drool over: Apple, Old Fahioned Custard, Pa's Pumpkin, and Caramel Pecan. They all smell and look fabulous! Don't you just want to take a bite?

Jennifer has also brought new fall candles to the shop. These also come in two sizes and both are topped off with mini pumpkins, candy corn, and acorns to accent your home decor. Your family and guests will think that you have been baking all day when you light one of these. Remember these candles are soy based so they offer a clean burn with no sooty smoke.

Jennifer also offers soy based soap in bars. She has many, many scents in these as well including her line of "manly soap" that is very popular. Even my dad loves this product and is always asking for more!

Another local mom with talent is painter Terry Schulman. Terry specializes in original artwork that she paints on fine, architectural salvage. She is a self-taught, local artist who is inspired by the rich heritage of Loudoun County and other rural communities. Terry discovered her talent about ten years ago when she picked up a paintbrush to express her emotions after musing amid farmland.Weather-worn barn wood, rain soaked shutters, and mysterious pieces of architecture, bring to life the stories and possibilities of what "was" and the potential for what "can be" as an artistic reminder of yesteryear.

We have several of her pieces hanging in the store now. I particularly love the two pieces shown here. The red barn with the log cabin is painted on an antique Loudoun County barn door complete with hardware. The detail Terry incorporates into her art makes each piece one-of-a-kind. She used real mortar on the log cabin to give it more dimension and texture.

We also have this wonderful inspirational sheep painting that is also done on another local antique door.

More of Terry's art can be seen in the shop, including her very popular fox portraits.

A new line that has just come into the shop is another scent filled treat for the body from Jaqua. This yummy group smells like buttercream frosting! The women in your life, both young and old, will enjoy using the Pink Buttercream and Raspberry Buttercream Shower gels, Hand lotions, and body butters that we offer.

There is also a lip gloss trio in three delectable flavors including cocoa buttercream. The packaging is perfect for gift giving, but don't be surprised if you can't part with these fun body treats. Seriously, what's more fun than smelling like cake and your favorite frosting? The saying on the package says "Spoil yourself, not your diet." I couldn't have said it better myself!

You'll find the Jaqua "frosting" in the reorganized Garden Room downstairs where we also have jewelry and purses from Material Girl and hair bows and headbands from Just Us Girls.

Debbie, aka Material Girl, just added more beaded necklaces, bracelets and earrings that have been popular with many of our shoppers. This week there are new gemstone bracelets that you can see in this picture. The bracelets are so affordable that you can buy one for yourself and one for a friend! She has also added more of the designer inspired striped purses, plus some solid colors that are just right for fall.

Rhonda Lough, our hairbow lady, has added to her line of girly accessories with these adorable ribbon trimmed socks for little girls.

Don't you just love this pair with the pom-pom fringe?

Here are some more really great finds that have come into the shop this week.

These animal print martini and wine glasses are hand blown and painted, making each one a unique piece of art. They will be a great addition to you barware.

We always have beautiful silk plants and flowers and fall is no exception. Just in this week, are these custom made floral designs.

Of course, as always there are many furniture items that are new this week. One is this Drexel Heritage two piece mahogany china cabinet. It is has interior lighting, glass shelves, and a felt lined silverware drawer. It is a stunning piece, priced well below retail. It is one of our best "really great finds" this month!

We have so many exciting new products to offer you. Please come in and check them out soon! Remember we are open every weekend now, from 10 to 8 each Friday and 10 to 6 on Saturday and Sunday. We all hope to see you there. Debbie
